What Is Urgent Care?

Urgent care can provide patients who need fast medical care the convenient alternative to emergency room services. Most urgent care facilities are not set up to treat patients for a heart attack or stroke. They will send anyone who comes in with symptoms that suggest such serious events to the emergency room where there are many more resources and expert staff available. For the less serious medical issues yet still urgent, the urgent care center, like Integrative Urgent Care can often provide the care a patient needs.

What Medical Issues does Integrative Urgent Care Treat?

Every urgent care center is usually equipped with different medical providers and equipment in its facility and staff. Therefore, treatment may vary. In general, Integrative Urgent Care is a good place to have the following conditions treated:

 General Visits

 Mild Trauma

 Allergic Reactions

 Upper Respiratory Infections

 Chest Pain

 Abdominal Pain

 Sore Throats

 Headaches, including migraines

 Muscle Strain

 Fevers

 Urinary tract infections

 Possible fractures

 STDs

 Rashes

 Screening Physical Exams

  Executive Physicals

  And many other services

While a primary care physician may provide some of these services, Integrative Urgent Care has extended hours beyond what most doctors’ offices keep. Thus, Integrative Urgent Care is an especially good option if any of these issues arise after business hours or on the weekend.

Is an Integrative Urgent Care Visit Covered by Insurance?

Many health insurance policies include coverage for visits to urgent care centers, but the coverage provided may be different from that offered for doctor’s appointments. It may even be different than the coverage provided for emergency room visits. Additionally, a few policies may not cover urgent care visits or may limit coverage to in-network centers.
